I loved this book. It may as well be just as bizarre as A Wild Sheep Chase but it’s so engaging. Especially the characters. They make the story so much more enriching.
+ yay for this cover.

A very quick read. There is always this intangible something he weaves through with his writing. Unresolved and a little saddening.

This book is absolutely beautiful. Everything from the narration to the fluidity of language to the transitions through time to the themes and feelings explored.

Why did it have to be the Johnnie Walker incident that left the deepest impression with me? That aside, the intricacy of the parallelism was quite fascinating.

A quick short read. Comforting and earthly.

My first taste of Murakami novels. What I loved most about it were the characters - especially Nagasawa and Midori. You don’t actually really like Nagasawa but you do find him impressive, and you can’t help but liking Midori for her ‘impetuousness’; just as the way Toru finds them so. I also loved Toru’s interactions with Reiko and I laughed out loud at the part...

All I can is that his execution of character is brilliant.
